Yes, injectables fall under the category of wrinkle-relaxing injections known as a neuromodulator. The function of injectables and other neurotoxins is to smooth wrinkles by blocking nerve receptors in muscles. Dermal fillers are typically (but not always) injections that contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is already naturally present in the connective tissue of the skin, forming a gel-like consistency. However, the body’s production of hyaluronic acid naturally slows with age. When strategically injected into areas missing volume, it draws moisture to the skin, restoring this lost volume to areas of the face affected by gravity or simply the aging process. Hyaluronic acid can provide a temporary solution to soften fine lines and wrinkles.

A biostimulator is a product injected under the skin to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin fibers. Unlike a dermal filler, where lost volume and structure are added with temporary filler, biostimulators prompt the skin to create its own collagen. Enhancing the skin’s collagen production gradually improves its structure and quality. It’s why, although it may take more than one session of bio-stimulation to achieve your desired results, so many of our patients love their effects!
